1 – The Queenstown Story
A journey through three hundred years of Irish Emigration, social, naval and maritime history. It tells real stories about real people – from the indentured servants who went to the U.S. colonies and the West Indies in the 17th century to the early settlers who went to Canada and the U.S.
The hardship of the Great Famine and the mass emigration that followed as well as the transportation of convicts to Australia is also chillingly told. The close connection between Cobh ( Queenstown) and Titanic and The Lusitania and their tragic stories are also recalled.
